IPad3 or Sony S2 – Which One is Best


It is well known that apart from Samsung, Sony is also one of the leading competitors of Apple. Nowadays Apple is known well known for its 3rd generation iPad i.e. ipad3 whereas Sony have also launched its new tablet which is known as “Sony Tablet S2”. Generally user gets confused whether he/she should go either for Sony or for Apple. Here are some of the differences listed below based on their specifications which will definitely clears his/her confusion.

•    Network Support:- It is well known that Apple’s iPad3 do not support 2G Network whereas Sony’s Tablet S2 supports 2G, 3G and 4G Networks.

•    Display: - As compared to Sony’s S2, Apple’s iPad3 has a good display. It supports 9.7 inches of LED-backbit IPS TFT capacitive touch screen with high resolution of 1536*2048 pixels. On the other hand, Sony S2 supports 5.5 inches of Dual TFT capacitive touch screen with 1024*480 pixels of resolutions.

•    Body Weight: - iPad3 of Apple is heavier than Sony S2. Ipad3 weights 652 g whereas S2 weights 372g.

•    Data Storage Capacity: - This 3rd generation iPad of Apple do not support memory card. It has internal memory storage of 16/32/64 GB with 1 GB of RAM. On the other hand, Sony’s S2 support microSD card up to 32 GB. It also has internal memory storage of 4 GB with 1 GB of RAM.

•    Bluetooth and Battery: - As compared to Sony’s Tablet S2, Apple’s iPad3 shows a strong connectivity with other devices via Bluetooth. IPad3 supports Bluetooth of version 4.0 with A2DP whereas S2 supports Bluetooth of version 2.1 with A2DP. Also iPad3 supports standard Li-Po battery which gives a high battery backup of up to 720 h in standby mode whereas S2 supports standard Li-Lon battery which gives battery backup up to 120 h in standby mode.

Additionally this iPad3 of Apple supports iOS 5.1 operating system with 1 GHz of Dual-core Cortex-A9 processor whereas Sony S2 supports android of version 3.2 with 1 GHz of Dual-core Cortex-A9 processor. It also supports Java with MIDP emulator which is not supported by iPad3.
